Happy New Year to everyone! We hope everyone had a great 2006 and is looking forward to an exciting 2007!
The temperatures this month in New Hampshire can best be described as frigid, with today's high being 20°F (-7°C) add to that wind chill and it comes down to a -10°F (-23°C), I don't even want to think what our lowest temperature for the day are going to be.
In case you missed it, January was time for the Lotusphere conference, this year was the 14th time Lotusphere was held and it was great to experience the buzz that was going around. IBM appears to have got the ship back on course and their customers are excited. It may be earlier than usual, but I can tell you that we will be at Lotusphere 2008 and our booth number is 333, so we look forward to seeing you there.
In this newsletter we'll cover some of the Sametime related announcements that took place at Lotusphere, I'll give you a link to a great giveaway you can download from our website, and we have the results for our first ever Christmas coloring competition.

Sametime Announcements
Lotusphere 2007 Sametime Happenings.
Lotusphere
was a busy year for Sametime, with Sametime announcements and Sametime
sessions. Lotusphere 2007 had a "Sametime All the Time" room. If you
visited that room during Lotusphere, you would have been able to sit in
on a Sametime session.
The biggest news
to come out of Lotusphere with regards to Sametime, was Sametime 7.5.1,
here are some of the key details concerning the new version
- IBM announced plans
to include real-time, point-to-point video as an out-of-the box
capability of IBM Lotus Sametime. Lotus Sametime will allow you to use
a webcam to enhance your instant messaging discussion or Voice over
Internet Protocol (VoIP) conversation -- just as if you were meeting
face-to-face.
- New and expanded
integration with solutions from leading telephony and video providers
will further extend Lotus Sametime with capabilities such as
click-to-call, call management, aggregated presence, soft phones and
video.
- Lotus Sametime 7.5.1 will extend its integration to include Microsoft® Outlook and Office applications.
- Lotus Sametime 7.5.1 will extend server support to Linux®.
- Lotus Sametime 7.5.1 will extend client support to Macintosh environments.
Further details can be found on the IBM/Lotus Sametime website.
Free Awareness Servlet
Awareness without the wait.
If you've visited our website, you'll most likely know that we have Sametime awareness on various pages, giving you access to our Sametime bots and our Sametime based live help system.
We use a servlet
to provide this initial awareness so that users don't have to wait for
Sametime Links and their Java Virtual Machine to initialize.
Continuing our
trend of giving customers useful tools, we are pleased to make
available free of charge the same awareness servlet we use on our
website.
To download the servlet and instructions on how it can be used on your own intranet or internet site, visit our downloads page.
