New Features Directly Derived from Customer Feedback
Instant Technologies, specialists in developing innovative,
enterprise-class compliance and productivity solutions for IBM Lotus Sametime
and Microsoft Office Communications Server, today released Instant Team Sessions v3.1.
Instant Team Sessions is the leading persistent chat
solution for Lotus Sametime. Team
Sessions allows teams to instantly share ideas, documents, and information in Lotus
Sametime-based persistent virtual meeting rooms to facilitate real-time
collaboration. Rooms are secure and
discussions are encrypted.
The Team Sessions server automatically records discussions
and manages content such as images, documents, or spreadsheets. And when new participants enter the Sametime
persistent chat room (ie, the ‘Team Session’), they are instantly provided with
a history of the discussion.
Version 3.1 includes three major enhancements:
- Web client now supports Ubuntu (version 8 and 9) and CentOS.
- The Team Sessions system can now synchronize Team Sessions archives
and content with external Lotus Notes discussion databases. This is
the first time that Sametime Persistent Chat Rooms have been integrated
with Notes discussion databases.
- Enhanced support for embedding Instant Team Sessions persistent
chat rooms within the Notes 8.5 client.
“These enhancements
are a direct result of customer feedback,” says Peyton
McManus, President of Instant Technologies. “As always, our customers are the primary
drivers for our product development efforts. We continually advance our Team Sessions product roadmap – and the
roadmap for all our products – with the assistance of our customers and
partners.”
One of Instant’s
largest defense customers requested the support for Linux. And the synchronization between Notes
discussion databases and Team Sessions’ content repository was enabled at the
request of a large university customer in Canada.
Instant Team Sessions v3.1 is available now. Recorded demo movies are available at http://www.instant-tech.com/resources/demos.cfm.
